A unique tiger-tracking safari on elephant-back in Nepal’s far western Terrai.

You will begin your expedition deep in the Karnali valley in the remote Bardia reserve of western Nepal and travel over the course of 10 days by elephant and on foot through the remote Karnali Valley.

You will be guided by ITNC tiger trackers and renound Tiger Tops guide Dan Bahardu Gurun and his Ghurkha naturalist guides and tharu porters in the old style of Colonial expeditions.

You will sleep under canvas, dine and drink cold Mumm Champagne under the stars, and fall asleep each night with the comfort of a hot water bottle and the sounds of the jungle.
In the mornings you will be served hot tea, an English breakfast or traditional kedgeree, and have the opportunity to wash and swim in crystal clear rivers or take a hot and private bush shower.
The Terrai offers a sensational diversity of flora and fauna. You will move through dense cool Sall forests, open elephant grasslands and ford crystal clear rivers. As well as the daily possibility of spotting elusive Bengal tigers you may also see Asian one-horned rhinos, sloth bears, blue bull antelope, marsh mugger crocodile, red dogs and the even the rare gaur buffalo, as well as over 450 species of bird life.
Breaking a new camp each day you will track tigers on both foot and elephant, taking casts of tiger pug marks and analysing fresh spoor. Dan and his team of naturalist guides will impart their knowledge of this pristine and diverse habitat.
This expedition is unique and made exclusively in conjunction with Tiger Tops Nepal. 10% of the cost of the trip will be donated back to the International Trust for Nature Conservation (ITNC) whose primary objective is the funding of tracking teams and the protection of the tigers of Nepal by means of anti-poaching teams and an effective informer network.
