2A one of a kind foot safari across the vast Chada plains in western Tanzania's remote Katavi National Park in search of the big five.
Your guide Silva and his armed scouts and support staff will lead you on a 5 day foot safari into some of the most remote and pristine bush habitat in east Africa. Katavi, a four hour bush plane flight from Arusha is home to some of the largest herds of Buffalo, elephant and lion in Tanzania.
It is certainly the most remote and least visited parks in East Africa with less than 100 visitors a year.
To quote Roland Purcell, founder of the Chada camp, or Roland's Camp - it is the jewel in the crown of Tanzanian national parks.
You begin your journey in Arusha where you will be flown to the rustic luxury of Chada camp, one of the fine Nomad camps. After a good nights sleep and fine food you will begin your safari guided by Silva, chief naturalist and one of Nomad Tanzanias top bush guides.
Your day begins at day-break with a hot mug of tea and light refreshement and a walk for approximately 2-3 hours where you will arrive at your bush breakfast- a full English affair with all the trimmings.
Walking after breakfast for a further 2 hours you will arrive at your lunch rest stop where you will be able to wash and rest before a bush cooked lunch and siesta will follow. You will be shadowed by your personel 4 by 4 safari car in case you feel like a drive for a while and then you can walk again to your nights camp, hot bush shower and fantastic candle lit dinner.
As the days progress you will find your self slip into the wonderful routine of bush life, and you will feel your senses tuning into the surrounding bush. Although we plan for your safari to end up at the exquisite fly campsite at a lush palmy region known as "Paradise" you can decide on the pace , duration and tempo of your safari. A truly one of a kind experience.
