Seasonal expeditions

Below follows a selection of our yearly seasonal expeditions.

What are seasonal expeditions?

The expeditions listed below run seasonally throughout the year. We have created each and every one of these journeys based on our past expeditions to these exact locals.

humpback mum and calve Our seasonal expeditions have been devised to run with the bare minimum number of participants and it is only once a trip has been booked by this required minimum that the dates and exact itinary are locked in. We feel that these trips work best when shared with close friends and family. After all - whom better than those we love the most to share the wild with!

As with all our expeditions you will be in the competant care of our trusted expert guides. In fact the only restrictive aspect of our seasonal expeditions is that they each have to adhere to a natural timeframe, the optimum time of year for remote region travel in a respective region.

Why seasonal?

A love of the ever changing seasons lies at the core of our passion for wilderness travel.

lapland in winter When planning an expedition we have learnt the importance of understanding the seasons of a specific region and the unique opportunities and challanges inherent in working within this unstopable predeterminded time-frame. Our one of a kind elephant back tiger tracking safari in Nepal for example is recomended to run between the cooler months of November and March, when you decide to go within that seasonal timeframe and for how long is completely up to you.

Sometimes the simple desire for a change of environment is initiated by our inbuilt seasonal body clock-a desire to move on once again, to taste the cool wind of an northern European autumn after a scorching hot African summer.

Seasons effect just about every aspect of life in the bush; an animals activity and behaviour patterns, the colour and richness of the vegatation, the temperature, and of course the light. grizz close up Arrive in Alaska a month too early for the brown bear feeding glut and you will be left with empty rivers and not a bear in view - arrive too late you could be ravaged by the onset of winter.

In Swedish Lapland they have eight seasons, each one unique; the Taiga forest turning from a pink frozen winter whiteness to the lush swathe of greens and browns in high summer to the ruddy ochre tones of autumn/winter. Ultimately the seasons offer us an opportunity, a precious timeframe for us to maximise your time on expedition and to give you the best possible chance of seeing the environment and animal that you hope to experience - first hand and at their very best.

Whatever your preferance- we have created a year of diverse and magical expeditions in collaboration with our team of expert guides.

We invite you to listen to your seasonal body-clock and share the wild with us.
