Silva is one of a new generation of Nomad Bush guides who has come up through the ranks to excel at his craft. Graduating from kitchen steward, to camp driver to qualified bush guide in record time Silva has added fluent English to his many talents; namely his breath taking knowledge of local flora, fauna and bird life of his beloved Katavi region. Subsequently Silva has become one of the most respected newly qualified bush guides in this Tanzanias most remote and least visitied National Park.

Alongside Festo (who specialises in guiding in in the Selous reserve), Silva has dedicted his life to guiding professionally in the Katavi region and has undergone the intense training of the all Nomad-Tanzania's top guides. Over the course of his apprentiship has excelled in his training. He has trained under both Roland Purcell who founded the chada camp in katavi as well as Mark Houldsworth- director of the Nomad group.
