Kenth Fjellborg/Arctic Dogsled Expeditions- Sweden

Kenth runs one of the largest dog sled kennels in Arctic Sweden. For the past 20 years Kenth's passion has revolved around dog sled racing and long range dog sled expeditions. His credentials are impressive. He is one of only a handful of native Swedes who have completed the gruelling Iditarod dog sled race in Alaska. He is an Arctic survival expert, ex Lapland ranger, and has lived in the remote village of Poikijarvi all his life.

In his own words, Kenth sums up his achievements and aspirations;

"Up here, the conditions are very good for sled dogs. Thus, it is easy to get started if you are interested in dogs and outdoor life. Driving a dog team is actually not only about handling a team of dogs. A major and a fun part of the work is breeding: to produce fine dogs, to train them and to see them develop and improve. My goal is to produce one of the finest dog teams of the world. I compete quite a lot and have won several competitions in Sweden and the Nordic countries. Futhermore, I lived two years in Alaska and while there, I participated in the Iditarod Sleddog Race, the largest sleddog race of the world. I came in twentieth then, as the second best rookie of the year, but next time my ambition is to finish among the top ten".
